A social media checklist for blog posts and tweets<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><strong>Before I post this blog<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Have I read it through?<\/li>\n<li>Is the spelling and grammar correct?<\/li>\n<li>Is my tone engaging, friendly and open?<\/li>\n<li>Have I said anything interesting, useful, amusing?<\/li>\n<li>Is the headline SEO friendly? Does it say something about content of the blog or is it a cryptic headline pleasing only to me and the very few that may find it?<\/li>\n<li>Am I encouraging comments?<\/li>\n<li>Am I referencing the blogs or other social media of important individuals connected with the content of this blog post<\/li>\n<li>Are links intended for inclusion included?<\/li>\n<li>Are pictures intended\u00a0 for inclusion included?<\/li>\n<li>Could I, should I, have I remembered to &#8211; embed a video and\/or audio link?<\/li>\n<li>Have I added the correct\/any categories?<\/li>\n<li>Have I added tags?<\/li>\n<li>Should I tweet about this through ping.fm (or similar service) and alert everyone on twitter, Facebook and LinkedIn etc?<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><strong>Before I tweet&#8230;<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Have I said anything interesting, useful, amusing?<\/li>\n<li>Link included?<\/li>\n<li>Picture included?<\/li>\n<li>&#8216;RT @&#8217; included on a retweet?<\/li>\n<li>is this thing short enough that it leaves space for a retweeters comment?<\/li>\n<li>have I #tagged all the most important words?<\/li>\n<li>Should I tweet this through ping.fm (or similar service) and thereby drop it simultaneously into blog, Facebook etc?<\/li>\n<li>Am I referencing other twitter accounts e.g. topical tweeters who have lots of followers<\/li>\n<li>Am I asking questions and encouraging interaction<\/li>\n<li>What time is it in the UK, US ( depending on my present location), because I don&#8217;t want to send this awesome tweet into zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzland and have it buried under a million tweets before its intended audience wakes up<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>I&#8217;m sure to have missed a few checks so why not alert me to them in comments? Go on!
